Paper Trails

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 1, 2026

Paper Trails was built by Chris Heninger as a fun, safe game for kids, provided without charge.

The short version

What stays on your device

The game remembers a few things between sessions so they're there next time: your settings (sound, difficulty, the skin you picked) and your stats (best run, games played, kills, maps conquered, time played, land grabs, biggest grab). They're kept in a small file on your device and nowhere else. We can't see them, they're never sent anywhere, and deleting the app deletes them.

Analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage information — things like how many runs are played, which difficulty gets picked, how far a run gets and which skins get worn. This helps us understand what's fun and what needs fixing. It never includes personal information, and it is never used for advertising.

If the game crashes, a crash report is sent via Firebase Crashlytics so it can be fixed: what the game was doing, the device model and OS version. It contains no personal information.

This website sets no cookies. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does no fingerprinting, so we see anonymous page counts and nothing about you.

Children's privacy

Paper Trails is designed to be safe for kids: no ads, no purchases, no chat, no links out of the game, and no collection of personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If any of this ever changes, this page will say so, with a new date at the top.
